Fresh off of the dancefloor heat of Fierce, Shoot Recordings is back with two new uptempo stompers that will thump your subs into the new year-- Collusion and Sugar Bear.
Collusion is from pacific northwest newcomer Root for the Villain and label boss Calculon. With a wailing hardcore siren and swooping subs it could almost be classic jungle, but the racing pace places at the front of today’s forward-thinking sounds. A distinctive stormer.
On Sugar Bear Calculon joins Stunna (Chicago) and Depth Range (Germany) for a deep half-stepper that, like the Hulk, gets bigger and meaner the longer it fights. Heavy from the start, stay tuned to the back half for some morbidly obese funk.
Remastered and expanded version of Surly's debut EP from 2017, a surprising and masterful mix of Polish jazz and footwork. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 21, 2018
